At the start of the pandemic, Dodger Stadium was one of many areas converted into a temporary healthcare facility. The city was able to set up more than 130 tents and 50 light towers to support rapid testing and treatment. Rezek was involved in this project, and to ensure that these structures provided safe and reliable electrical connections, like all Rezek structures, they were designed with Leviton electrical wiring devices.

Throughout the installation, a large number of power cables are installed to run critical machinery and equipment, terminated with Leviton industrial plugs and connectors. These devices were chosen for their ease of installation and ability to withstand daily abuse.

Like most temporary applications, adaptability is extremely important. The facility used mobile carts to transport electricity and data to and from the location. Rezek customized these carts with Leviton’s industrial-grade power outlets, which are impact-resistant and suitable for outdoor use. The carts also include Leviton’s USB outlets, which feature tamper-resistant outlets and USB Type-A charging ports. By having both standard power outlets and USB ports on the carts, the installation could easily meet your its charging needs.

Once the vaccines were available for distribution, even more temporary treatment facilities were needed to serve the city. Dodger Stadium and other venues were turned into mass vaccination sites. Refrigeration solutions have been put in place to keep the vaccines at optimal temperatures. Rezek has supported these efforts by providing resources with temporary Leviton power equipment, including unipolar cam devices. Designed for easy assembly and disassembly, these rugged plugs and connectors are designed for high amperage applications and resist vibration, ensuring safe and secure power.

During COVID-19 testing and vaccine distribution, Rezek provided the stadium with command center communications trailers to support day-to-day operations. These large units, which can hydraulically extend over 700 square feet, require the same infrastructure as a commercial building: electricity, networking solutions and lighting. To meet these needs, Rezek designed the interiors of these centers with Leviton fixtures. For electrical access, structures are equipped with Leviton’s standard outlets and retractable floor boxes, which retract into the table or floor when not in use. Users simply press and release to access outlets and USB ports. Lighted GFCI outlets throughout the structure enhance user safety by providing protection against electric shock. The structures also incorporate Leviton occupancy sensors to provide smart energy savings.
