Devlin Design Group won the Gold and Silver awards in the Stage Design category, announced at this year’s PROMAX Local Awards virtual event, held on October 7. The PROMAX Awards are one of the most prestigious competitions for the creative television community.
WLWT, the NBC subsidiary of Hearst Television in Cincinnati, received this year’s gold trophy. The scenography was finalized, built and installed at the height of the pandemic. The challenges were met and the launch of the new design, featuring visual icons from the Cincinnati area, flexible presentation venues, with an impressive array of technology, continues to keep storytelling appealing to viewers.
Marquee Sports Network, home of the Chicago Cubs, the regional sports network of Sinclair Broadcast Group, won the Silver Award. Inspired by the legacy of the Cubs and the team’s loyal fans, Wrigley Field’s legacy is visible throughout the set. Designing new ways to present in-depth sports content with unlimited functionality, interactivity, and most importantly, fan engagement, is what makes this design a crush.

The PROMAX Gold and Silver Awards add to the DDG team’s total awards in 2021. Earlier this year, DDG received the top prize in the Webcast Set Design category for the NewscastStudio International Competition, Broadcast Production Awards, for its scenic environment at VENN, the 24/7 live network for games, streaming, esports and entertainment, located in Los Angeles.
