Revealing New Technologies at Realize LIVE

Siemens Realize LIVE + U2U is an online event open to everyone. Much of it is geared towards the wide range of Siemens products and most of the presentations have some relation to them. Many of them are more generic in nature, digging deeper into technology and methodologies.

Presentations are now available on demand and range from automotive and printed circuit board (PCB) design to 5G Open RAN technology. I checked a dozen sessions and selected a few, which are shown here.

The “5G Open RAN: an analysis-based approach to create and optimize SoCs and networks presentation of the session picocom designs and markets baseband platforms compliant with the open RAN standard (Fig. 1). Topics include SoCs and carrier-grade software products for small cell 5G infrastructure, as well as the challenges of building and optimizing Open RAN systems.

Entering the automotive space, I found “Adopting a digital twin approach to optimize the performance engineering of electrified vehicles. (Fig. 2). Many aspects of electric car design benefit from a digital twinning approach. For example, upstream design and optimization using simulations when developing a prototype provides important information before physical testing. This advanced validation limits costly design changes in later stages of development.

The range of Siemens products is highlighted by the number of different topics at this online conference. The presentation “A New Methodology to Improve Integrated Circuit Packaging Planning and Prototyping Design Workflow” discusses integrated circuit design and packaging as well as printed circuit design. (Fig. 3). The presentation discusses the Siemens Xpedition substrate integrator, but also provides a general overview of design considerations and issues.

The latest in my mix is ​​another look at digital twins. “An evolution from high-performance digital twins to executable digital twins examines the importance of executable digital twins (xDTs), including development, validation and deployment (Fig. 4). The presentation touches on Siemens MindSphere and Simcenter.
