Vanderburgh County’s best-selling home in July topped $2 million

EVANSVILLE — Think Secretariat who blew the field away in the 1973 Belmont Stakes, winning the race and the Triple Crown by 31 lengths.

The most expensive home sold in Vanderburgh County in July showed similar dominance over any competitor.

A Newburgh Road mansion on the east side of Evansville fetched more than $2.1 million, according to data provided by the appraiser’s office. No other Vanderburgh County home topped the $1 million sale price in July.

It was an overall fast month, with nine Vanderburgh County homes selling for at least $500,000 and 252 sales exceeding $100,000. But the Newburgh Road property stands out.

6213 Newburgh Road, $2.1 million

At nearly 10,000 square feet, this large home designed and remodeled by Denton Homes “combines wonderful livability with high-end finishes, exceptional style, and a great blend of past and present,” according to its description on .

The five-bedroom, eight-bathroom home sits on 3.5 acres. It has a large covered porch and a spacious hall, an open dining room with a fireplace, built-in cabinets and shelves, surround sound and a sitting area. Zillow describes the kitchen as a “show-stopper” with a massive center island.

Other highlights: a sunny family room, a main floor home office, a cinema room and a large mudroom with built-in lockers.

Outside, there is an in-ground pool, hot tub, covered patio, outdoor kitchen, and double-sided fireplace.

10700 Old Plantation Drive, $850,000

10700 Old Plantation Drive, a home near McCutchanville, was the second best-selling home in Vanderburgh County in July.

The sale price for this home seems to be standard for Plantation Estates, a subdivision near McCutchanville. Homes here are typically around 6,500 square feet and cost around $877,000. The monthly homeowners association fee is approximately $83.

The estate located at 10700 Old Plantation Drive spans two acres and covers 5,600 square feet. With four bedrooms and five bathrooms, it also has three fireplaces and an inground pool and a large kitchen with dining area overlooking the porch and back patio.

10607 Oglesby Road, $799,900

10607 Oglesby Road was the third best-selling home in Vanderburgh County in July.

The third record for July under $800,000 is this Darmstadt-area home. It has four bedrooms, five bathrooms and 4,660 square feet.

It’s described on Zillow as a great party spot with a scenic drive from the road to the door.

“The first driveway leads to the entrance of the house and the second takes you back to the amazing shed and outdoor paradise,” according to Zillow. “If you love swimming pools and outdoor kitchens, this home is for you. A tree-lined backyard provides lots of privacy and plenty of decks would make it the perfect place for entertaining.”

1919 Briar Ridge Road, $665,000

This home at 1919 Briar Ridge Road near Oak Meadow Country Club was Vanderburgh County's fourth biggest seller in July.

Another property with a charming driveway, this mansion sits in northeast Vanderburgh County near the Oak Meadow Country Club on three acres. There are four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and 3,900 square feet.

“As you approach the long driveway leading to the house, you are greeted by Hardie plank siding and beautiful original stone accents,” according to Zillow. “…Pure privacy and an incredibly serene setting make this property one of a kind.”

With an attached 2.5 car garage and a detached 2.5 car garage, this home seems ideal for someone who loves cars or needs a workshop. Zillow also notes a beautiful kitchen and living room with “high ceilings,” as well as ample family and deck space.

1509 Cheshire Bridge Road, $630,000

This house at 1509 Cheshire Bridge Road was the fifth best-selling residence in Vanderburgh County in July 2022.

In June, a home on that same block in the Farmington Place subdivision was among the five most expensive sales. This quaint four-bedroom, three-bathroom home close by closes the July listing.

The home northwest of the Evansville city limits covers nearly 3,800 square feet. It’s described by Zillow as offering a bit of everything: a three-car garage, plus a breakfast nook that “opens to a lovely covered patio with skylights, perfect for summer barbecues and entertaining. friends”.

According to FC Tucker Emge website, the median list price for a home in Farmington Place is $675,000, with an average of 33 days on the market.
